Christine Duhaime
Founder, Digital Finance Institute

Christine Duhaime is the Founder of the Digital Finance Institute, a FinTech think tank that addresses emerging issues in FinTech, financial inclusion and RegTech, and helps to support FinTech in Canada and in Iran. Christine is an expert in financial inclusion law and policy, and is a counter-terrorist financing and anti-money laundering lawyer in private practice. The Digital Finance Institute has focused its financial inclusion efforts on the refugee crisis and in ameliorating access to banking for women. She oversees the creation of a refugee payments app, as part of a larger initiative for the Institute’s Refugee Bank, and a project for counter-terrorist financing legal compliance on the Blockchain. She is the co-creator of the popular FemTechLeaders.com site that profiles leading women in financial technology, and co-authored the first White Paper on Women in FinTech for SWIFT in 2015.

Christine sits on several legal committees, including one for the selection of judges in Canada. She speaks around the world regularly on financial inclusion, RegTech, and the FinTech of the refugee crisis, and is widely quoted in the financial press on financial crime issues. Christine is the co-founder of the first FinTech accelerator in Canada that helps to launch FinTech start-ups.
