Hank Boughner serves as President, Global Solutions for Global Payments Inc. (NYSE:GPN), one of the world’s leading payment companies. In this role, Hank is responsible for managing the company’s global ecommerce and omnichannel business. Most recently, Hank led the strategic acquisition and integration of Realex Payments, based in Dublin, Ireland. Realex will be a core part of the omnichannel offering, helping Global Payments utilize leading edge ecommerce technology for customers across Europe and worldwide. Global Payments, a Fortune 1000 company, operates in markets around the globe through more than 4,300 employees in 29 countries.
Hank previously served with Global Payments as SVP, Corporate Development. In that role, he led the worldwide corporate development team and the company’s mergers and acquisitions strategy. Since joining Global Payments in early 2011, Hank led three acquisitions that are the foundation of our global integrated payments business: Accelerated Payment Technologies, Payment Processing, Inc. (PayPros), and Ezidebit Inc. (Australia). Other transactions include: Visa CyberSource’s ecommerce business, Alfa Bank’s merchant acquiring business in Russia, Civica’s merchant acquiring business in Spain, and HSBC’s merchant acquiring business in Malta. Global Payments also acquired the remaining minority ownership in the HSBC Asia JV, which operates in 11 countries.
Hank has more than twenty years of business, investment and transaction experience within growth markets including technology, tech-enabled services and financial technology/services. Prior to joining Global Payments, Hank held investment positions with H.I.G. Ventures, LLC where he was a Managing Director, and the Private Equity Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he served as the head of the technology group and led direct, fund and secondary investments. He also served many years as an investment banker in the high technology group with Goldman Sachs focusing on financing and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Hank received an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar, and a BS in Finance, with distinction and honors, from Indiana University.
Hank and his wife, Carter, enjoy living in Atlanta with their four children.
