Pascale-Marie Brien is currently in charge of payment issues at the European Banking Federation in Brussels. Her previous assignments include the representation of French Banks on payments and retail banking issues within the French Banking Federation and the management of Fidelis, a consulting company specialised in European and Payments issues. She was previously Head of the European and Legal Affairs Department of Europay International (now MasterCard). Over the years, she has specialised in defending the interests of the banking industry, notably on competition law and regulatory issues (Interchange fees, Payment Services Directive, Framework for combating fraud on electronic means of payments…). Pascale-Marie Brien holds a PHD in International Private Law from the University of Toulouse, France.
